No you have the high limit thermostat which is what cuts the power of the heating element gets too hot.
You have few thermostat which is what turns diet on and off for the selected cycles.
.
You have the bimetal or thermal which cuts off the heating element when it gets to operating temp.
Then lastly
The thermal fuse which is on the exhaust right before the vent and cuts power if the exhaust gets too hot.
The last one is what falls for clogs. All 4 fail though with the thermostat failing the least the fuse the most.
