I wait for something else to go out first in the cooling system, then replace coolant as part of that repair. Pump, hose, thermostat, reservoir, etc.

min that case, it’s something lightly used or heavily maintained and you should pay attention to coolant condition and use anti corrosion additives.
For most people, and especially businesses that run equipment 2000+ hrs per year until it’s dead, coolant doesn’t matter as long as it’s there.

This is actually what I did….i spotted a slight bulge in the 20-year old bottom radiator hose and wanted to replace it before football season. Believe it or not, nothing has ever gone out on this truck before….20 years with 285K on it!
