What kind of pan and drain are you using?
Do you have access to the plumbing from underneath? I didn't because of the slab but it was still pretty easy to set the drain in the pan and connect to plumbing.
Your job was tougher.
My Mom's house is pier and beam so there was crawlspace access. At this point, I have the main shower drain pipe where it needs to be and felt confident enough to go ahead to install the durock subfloor.
I'm going to use the Kerdi pan with the drain kit.
I've really only looked at the Kerdi diagram and watched some videos so far and mainly just nervous about how that connection will all go together when I get back for that stage next month.
I'll probably be back here then with a lot of questions.

If you have access to the plumbing from underneath, you can actually install the drain after installing the pan. Most kerdi drain install videos talk about with plumbing access or no plumbing access. For a slab like I have, plumbing needs to be done before installing pan since the slab has to be closed up etc.
Watch some vids man, yours is not difficult. The kerdi drain sits in premolded space in the shower pan and extends down under the pan/floor. Your sewer pipe is under there and you just cut sewer pipe to whatever length so the drain sits flush in its spot in the pan. If the pipe is too short under there, you just add a piece of pvc. Make sure drain sits all the way down in its spot in the pan after pushing it into the thinset. PVC cement the pipe pieces together and you're done.
