Bamboo and Glyphosate

Attempting to get bamboo removed. Know this will be a process. Recently had it cut to the ground and then grinded up with a stump grinder. I see the contractor missed a few. If I can’t dig up the rhizome will applying glyphosate directly to the rhizome below the surface kill it?

Hate to tell you, but the contractor may not have done anything but make it worse. You have to pull up the rhizomes with bamboo or it'll keep spreading. I've been fighting some in my yard for a few years because it's woven through some tree roots that makes it hard to manually remove.
Online they'll tell you that it doesn't work, but if you use some strong glyphosate it can be done. The most effective method I've found is mix glyphosate and triclopyr (idk if this is efficient but it works for me), cut the rhizomes or stalk, and immediately apply the herbicide. If you can cut the rhizomes open and get it on a "fresh wound" it works even better. Good luck, bamboo is a pain in the arse

I've had some success with glyphosate, but undiluted Triclopyr worked even better for me. I dealt with both running and clumping bamboo, and the glyphosate seemed to work best on the clumping variety. If you have Triclopyr, I'd recommend using it. Crossbow is another one. If not, you could try glyphosate at a higher rate.

Glyphosate works quite well on bamboo. Just wait until it starts sprouting again and spray the sprouts with glyphosate. The leaves are waxy, so put a squirt of dish soap in the tank as well.
