I have a car and the driver's side window is not closing/seating properly. Motor works fine, goes up and down. Problem is the window gets a little out of line when it is about to close. If you hold your hand on it, you can make it close properly and seal.

Am I looking at an actuator issue?

Not sure what car you have but the clips that hold the window on may be broken so the window isn't seated properly.

It's a Mazda 6. Are you talking about the clips that hold it to the actuator?

Have you lubricated the window channels yet? Sometimes they get dry and cause problems like this.

No sir. They are called window regulator guide clips which sit IN the window and on the regulator itself.

I was hoping to diagnose this problem without taking the door panel apart, I guess I am going to have to do it.

Yea it sucks. Just get some of these so you don't mar your leather

Plus you'll learn something new about your car. I replaced 4 windows and then one again b/c I went with a cheap regulator But once it's apart, you'll see what the problem is. Good luck and keep me posted on developments

I already have the kit, replaced an actuator on another car that was broken. It is just a pain to take it apart twice (diagnosis and repair).

Make sure the window slide channels are clean. Depending on the age of the vehicle, parts alignment could be an issue. This is the issue with most vehicles. More so with damaged, neglected and cars 20+ years old.
