Anyone know where to get large tank ends for a fire pit?

I’ve seen people have the ends of large propane tanks and similar cut off to make fire pits. Was wondering if there are any places around southeast Louisiana that I can check out.

got me a stainless drum from a dryer for mine. Works very well.

That is very nice, but I want something larger and more open. Went to a camp this past weekend and they had a damn 6' bowl. I'm not sure if it was a propane tank or what. I'd like something around 48" across.
Looking for a place like this around here.

Yeah, I'm sure, but I'm ok with that. This is what I'm wanting to build.

Yeah that's way too much. I see some online for between $100 -200 but they're not around here. Shipping would probably be 3 times that.

We bought curved cementpavers from Lowe’s, and stacked them 3 high in about a 4 foot circle. Poured lava rocks in the middle.
Works great and super cheap. This is our second winter using it.

Brian's Furniture in Port Allen has several sizes of cast iron sugar kettles with steerage stands that can be used as fire pits. Check their site. Not for the cheap of heart.

There is a metal shop north of ferriday that has that size sitting outside by the road.
