Is this advisable? Installers want to use silicone but that doesn’t seem like it will hold up.

Would you use thin set on cabinets with quartz countertops? Use silicone

The guys at John Bridge forum (tile/shower pros) recommend thinset. What's your curb made of? If schluter, they also recommends thinset.

Curb is 2x4s with a schluter membrane wrapped around. Planning on having tile guy create a mud preslope, go over this again with redgard, then bond curb stone with thinset

Thinset a better application, have the tile guy install it. Silicone would adhere perfectly fine, but leaves more opportunity for the curb to 'roll' over time from stepping on the edge.

Why mix redguard and schluter?
