Why do I have so much trouble posting gifs with img button using iPhone/iPad?

9 times out of 10 the img doesn’t work. I’ve copied links from imgur, giphy, tenor and they rarely seem to work. Posting an image from reddit seems most reliable. I can’t tell the difference between the ones that work and all those that don’t. What’s the secret?
