Completely wiped everything clean, and now all it shows is a picture on the screen telling you to plug it into iTunes. So I plugged it into my computer and when iTunes comes up, all it's showing is an alert saying "iTunes could not connect to the iTunes store. The network connection timed out.
Make sure your network settings are correct and your network connection is ative, then try again"

Obviously my network connection is active bc I'm typing to y'all. Any help? I've never linked my phone to iTunes before for music or anything, so I don't know how this all works.

TIA.

maybe try exiting out of Itunes and opening it up again. I'm not sure it will work but it's worth a shot

I've had that problem before. Best thing I can tell you is reinstall iTunes and reset your network connections.

I tried. I even deleted my old iTunes and downloaded a new one. Had nothing on it, so it didn't hurt to do it.

This. But the problem is most likely coming from your antivirus software. Are you running norton?

No, AVG.

Hey, it's free, back off!

I Googled it, and did, basically, a hard restard on my phone, and when I plugged it back into iTunes, it now says "The iPhone software updates server could not be contacted"

How do I reset my network connections? I may just try that.

Hmm I think I had the same problem, really. Try updating your antivirus software and make sure that iTunes Isnt one of the blocked programs. I seriously had the same problem, I just can't remember how exactly I fixed it. Try lowering your firewall long enough to see if that's the issue too.

Restarting your network connection may be the problem, but you could be adding a lot of unnecessary work

I just downloaded it a few months ago. Shouldn't be outdated. I'll try opening it and fricking around with it.

I had this problem with my wife's phone when I upgraded to 4.0. Can you actually access the iTunes store, but it gives you that message when you try to restore? What I ended up having to do is start the phone in DFU mode. Of you don't know how to do this here are the instructions: plug phone into computer and have iTunes running. Do a hard reset (hold the home and sleep buttons until it turns off (~7 seconds). As soon as the phone turns off, release the sleep button, but continue holding the home button. The phone will show up in iTunes, but the screen will be black. That is how you know your phone is in DFU mode.

Sorry bud...last thing I would try is firewall, then turn your Internet connection on and off, then just delete the network and reinstall it

I'm sure you already did, but sometimes it's just as simple as restarting your computer

I did that. It's still saying the same shite in iTunes. No, I cannot connect to the iTunes store. it says "iTunes could not connect to the iTunes store. The network connection is times out.
Make sure your network settings are correct and your network connection is active, then try again"

Buy a new computer, unless you live somewhere that has an apple store near by. They'll have you fixed up in no time if so.

Aww poopy....
Well that's not happening. Is it possible to use a friend's computer for all this?
I'm sure they have a few here in BR.
