I started a mega thread in the political forum on the Biden laptop that is now stickied.

I had intended to update the 1st post of the thread with links related to the story. I just tried to add to the post and got an error saying post length can't exceed 7900 characters.

Is that something you can turn off for that post?

Thank you for the response.

Would it be possible to add a couple of blank posts below the OP so additional information can be added?

Ask HunterBidensLaptop alter to let you have that spot.

Ok, and if he says Yes, do you transfer it to me? I am unsure how it all works.

Just type it out and tell him to cut and paste it.

If I start a new thread is it possible for you move the posts from the original thread into it then sticky the new one and nuke the old one?

You're asking for the admins to do a lot of work here...

I'd be happy to do it myself if I could, but I can't so I need them to do it.

I'm just trying to add more info to the thread. It sounds like my best option is to start a new thread with several reserved posts at the front of it so I can continue to add more to it. That's easy for me to do. What I can't do, is take all the posts from the original thread and move them to the new one. I'm assuming there is some kind of admin dashboard they can use to manipulate the board, I have no idea how hard that is to do for them, hopefully not hard.

My questions are borne out of a lack of knowledge on how the board works. I didn't realize there was a 7900 character limit to a post, I've never run into that before. If I had been aware, I would have structured the original post to account for it.

There's a reason TulaneLSU replies to himself when he starts a thread to reserve the next 3 or 4 posts

I created a new thread and moved all of my info to it.

New Thread: https://www.tigerdroppings.com/rant/politics/new-and-improved-biden-laptop-mega-thread-v20/92628947/

Can someone please sticky the new one and unsticky the old one?

Unfortunately they aren’t not going to be able to sticky Version 2.0 due to board rules.

What rule is that? Serious question as I wasn't aware of any rules related to stickies, where are they posted?
