That is what is was wondering, my mother is a strong advocate of this, she has push on school systems for 30 + years. Over the time growing up I saw many examples of these special kids going beyond what many would have expected. Special in the sense that they are blesed with a better outlook and perception of what really matters.

What did the guy say about Downs?

So using this logic, you have no problem with someone coming on here and advocating the extermination of an entire race, such as Jews? Or what about stating that President Obama needs to be assassinated because he's a communist?
As long as the speaker is speaking the truth as he sees it, would you come here and knight for him? Do you think this type of speech is good for the board, and should be allowed?

I'm not going to ask you to link anything. But from this topic i see that he has the pov that the military is conning people into service to fight an unnecessary war and that parents should terminate pregnancies where the child will be handicapped (i guess).
Would you say that these are flame points or just consistent liberal beliefs? when a conservative says nuke the middle east, is that really a flame?(no pun)

Tell your mother an anonymous poster on a message board you frequent truly appreciates her work in this area. I really mean that.

Which is an opinion.

Which is an opinion based on the assumption that all children with disabilities will lead lives whose quality makes it not worth living. Also, he blames parents for having kids with Downs, primarily, as having kids when they shouldn't have--meaning their age led to them having Downs. Problem with his theory is that many people in their twenties (my wife was 25, I was 26) have kids with Downs as well. His assumptions are generally ignorant and none of that puts him in the right when mocking injured soldiers.

It's ignorant as can be and warrants the poster being told as such. I also don't think that to be a good comparison.
All of this aside, I don't care if otto is banned or not. I think your defending him is silly and posters have certainly been banned for less. You upset that people took offense to his comments? It happens all the time on here.

Get angry with comments sure, attack him sure, but to petition a ban is another level.
And as to comments about racism, i believe those are covered under board rules are they not?

Jesus, people petition bans all the time. Not sure why this one bothers you over any of the others.
I have no clue where the racism comment came from.

I don't see any others pertaining to political beliefs. And Sorry the racism defense was from fester.

Link me to where I petitioned for a ban?

What about what I said about Obama. Nothing about race. What if posters come into a thread about his presidency, and someone advocates assassinating him? Or, just blowing off his legs and torturing him? Yes or no, do you knight for keeping him?
Posted on 2/11/11 at 6:14 pm to Festus
Comments about wanting to assassinate a US president are against the law. Just ask Raymond Hunter Geisel. And no, i wouldn't support a law breaker.

Jesus, you really are a piece of work. Anything to avoid answering the question.
OK, how about not wanting to assassinate Obama, but wishing someone else would do it, or maybe just opining about how wonderful it would be if his wife and kids were raped and murdered because you disagree with his politics? Would you knight for that poster?
Posted on 2/11/11 at 6:37 pm to Festus
Support law breaking? Otto supported such? No.

Quit avoiding the question. I'm not asking you about supporting law breaking. There's no law broken when one takes delight in another's tragedy. A poster starts a thread laughing about Obama contacting cancer? Daughter being killed in an auto accident?
Answer the question for once. You won't, because you know it will reveal the sick hipocrite that you are.

You need help. How many verbal assaults (as defined in the guidelines) are you going to throw my way? Apparently you have protected status of some sort. Be that as it may, i am not avoiding any question, Im avoiding your attempt to spin words(as you did in the Poliboard thread). Otto did not laugh at the soldier, so your example is incomparable.

Of course you won't answer, because it would reveal that you defend freedom for one to speak there mind, no matter how vile, as long was they don't oppose your personal political views.
You and Otto are perfectly aligned politically. Otto at least has the guts to own up to his hatred of the US and it's soldiers.

My beliefs are that opinions are not to be suppressed.
Outrage can come in the form of argument.
RA'ing for banishment is a cop out.
Only those who can not defend their position
need to resort to such tactics.
