Astronomy is Science, Hubba.
Is that a hobby of yours?

Astronomy is Science, Hubba.
Who doesn't like astronomy?

It was a telescope and my 11th grade physics teacher that made me decide to major in physics in college.

My daughter's school issues all kids an iPad. Required for science is Star Walk, which we already had on our phones and iPads at home.
I love asking my daughter to try and name the planets she sees in the early evening night sky, and how each planet has it's own unique luminosity to identify it. Then we confirm it with Star Walk.
We went to Lake Powell last year in AZ and being able to see the Milky Way in such clarity with the naked eye just blew away my daughter, so much so that it actually strengthened her religious faith. I'm much more cynical, but am moved by the sheer awesomeness, grandeur and power to create and destroy that the universe has.
Kids today have it made with the technology available for learning. Amazing times.
