Are you not seeing the board name in large font below the logo? As on desktop, you can click that to get to the index again.

Please no. The current mobile layout is perfect. The new one is clunky and too spaced out. Even the buttons and the look. There's too much empty space. Between each post, between the links at the bottom of the posts, between the threads, the extended third dedicated reply column seems entirely unnecessary.
Why change the most perfect mobile site I've been on?

The biggest clunky/noisy issue for me is the new board layouts. The smaller font coupled with the new column just leaves alot of empty space.

In looking at the pictures I think my problem is just the smaller font. I liked the old mobile because it was easy to read and navigate. Now it feels like to much jammed into my small screen. Is there a way to increase font size?
Also, the links at the bottom blend into the next post.

The new one is way more spaced out. Blech. Notice on the old version how you can see more threads on the main board before you start scrolling.

that is because we had to move the Board name to under the logo...99% of mobile users scroll the index anyway, so within seconds, the fact that there are five threads viewable at the top versus seven becomes inconsequential.
