Can the stories and news stop hosting images/media from Twitter/Facebook?

More than 50% of my time (I'm sure a lot of others as well) is on my internet connection from work. More than 75% of all the articles on TD are directly linked from twitter or facebook. I like clicking on and reading all the stories but I never get to see any images or tweets because more often than not they are hotlinked straight from social media. It wouldn't be hard to pull down that content (pic, screenshot of tweet, etc) and upload it to imgur or some other free image hosting site and linking the article that way.
This way you don't have to host it on the TD servers, and everyone that has social media filtered could actually see the stories. I really enjoy the news articles and I still click them (not near as much) but this has been making me click them less.
I just think it would be very helpful to a lot of users and bring the overall quality of TD up. There really is no downside because you don't have to host the images here either if you are concerned about bandwidth.
