added an avatar for the first time this morning. It is not showing up. The image icon is there though. What do I need to do to fix it. Thanks

Is the image under 30KB?
Is it hosted by Imgur or Photobucket?
Did you use the right link (should say .jpeg or whatever the image file is)?

Open the link in Firefox, right click on the image and select "Copy Image Location". Copy and paste the link in a new tab to make sure it's just the image. If so, use that address.
If you've done that, try uploading to Imgur and do the same.

OP what did you do to fix it? I am having this problem too and I have no been able to fix it, photobucket and tinypic both didnt work

Try hosting the image using something other than photobucket. I used to use photobucket and now use imgur
