Yeah the course is very disappointing. It’s THE New Orleans Marathon and half of it is out and back on the Lakefront…awful.
Outside of the CCC and the Saints 5k the city seems hesitant to do any races downtown or in the Quarter. Really sucks and huge missed opportunity. I’m also not sure why, it’s not like they don’t have the resources…we do it for Mardi Gras for 2.5 weeks. My guess is it can be done but is prohibitively expensive for the race promoters.
