GoRuck Normandy Events 82nd Anniversary of D-Day

Normandy event weekend has been announced for 2026.
There are 11 events, and you could compete in ten of them (the 26.2 conflicts with the start of another event that day) over the weekend. The weights are pretty light (10lb female, 20lb male) except for the pinnacle of the Omaha Beach challenge, which is 20/30. I'm expecting to hit Ireland right before this, it could be an interesting experience. I'd plan on just bringing empty sandbags that would be filled instead of plates, of course. You can do this with a Bullet Ruck.
“THINK NOT ONLY UPON THEIR PASSING. REMEMBER THE GLORY OF THEIR SPIRIT.”
— Omaha Beach, Normandy
June 6, 1944—D-Day. The largest amphibious invasion in history. Allied forces stormed Normandy to break tyranny and change the world, at tremendous cost.
In the hours before dawn, the 82nd Airborne Division parachuted in behind enemy lines, securing key objectives and fighting for 33 days without relief. Their courage and sacrifice helped ensure the success of the invasion.
In 2026, GORUCK returns to Normandy for the 82nd Anniversary of D-Day. We ruck the beaches, hedgerows, and Pointe du Hoc. We carry weight. We honor sacrifice. We remember why freedom isn’t free.
