Any cardiologist on the board?

Pops. 77. 260lbs was admitted to the hospital last Friday.

He is dealing with a cellulitis infection in his right leg. He has dealt with cellulitis for the past ten years in his calves on and off. He has terrible circulation in his legs. He is on fluid and heart pills regularly but he has bad hips so he really doesn’t get around(uses a walker etc). They have him some diuretics intravenously which I get will lower his bp.

I understand the shitty circulation is causing the cellulitis. Which I am trying to find ways to try and best mitigate this in the future

Right now though he’s still admitted and they cannot get his blood pressure up. It’s steady around 80/50 and in fact this afternoon his bottom number was 43. His map number on Friday was 60.

They have done an echogram on his heart and ultra sounds in his legs. Having said that. Idk 100% if they did the whole leg or just the knees down. Right now they are saying no clots found.

Because of the amount of time he had circulation issues both calves are pretty much purple, but his left foot is very cold to the touch.

I’m not trying to walk into the hospital tomorrow and be an arm chair doctor but I’m very much concerned about a blockage. He is unable to advocate for his own health and I’m just worried about him. I’ve been there everyday with him and am trying to ask what I think are the correct questions but who knows.

Unfortunately we live in a world now in healthcare that I can’t take everything they are telling me (which isn’t really much) as gospel.

I’m just wondering if there is a test that they could do or something we are missing. Lost mom three years ago due to different circumstances but I feel like this same hospital gave up on her. It’s not his time yet.
