My son got tackled in last weeks game and the trainer said he has a level 2 AC separation in his shoulder. Has anyone had any experience with this type of injury. Im getting conflicting reports on the recovery time. Ive heard anywhere from 2-6 weeks.

His pain level Saturday morning was pretty high

AC Joint eh? Hit that shite with an injection than get surgery at the end of the year.

Don't waste time getting that surgically repaired. He will keep injuring it and each time will be worse than the previous.

I've had it in both shoulders SUCKS. Trying to sleep is miserable. 2-6 weeks is appropriate. It's a slow recovery, just the bouncing from running hurts much less any impact. Had a cortisone shot in my joint that brought me to damn near tears. Swimming pool work is the best thing to build strength back

And tell him to forget about flat benching for a while.

id recommend strengthening that rotator cuff

LINK

this provides a plethora of exercises, of course have a good physical therapist and ortho doc look at him
