Definitely not. The amateur is as big a part of the tradition there as the green jacket. That’s why on Sunday in Butler cabin the low amateur gets a seat right next to the winner for the Nance ceremony.

They’re all about growing the game of golf over there and giving the amateurs a stage is part of that. They get treated like absolute royalty . And then of course there’s the brand new Ladies Amateur now that plays their final round at Augusta on Masters week eve. Which builds on the whole amateur tradition

As long as there’s a Masters, there will always be amateurs there.
