I have played the red and blue courses at Streamsong, how is the Black? I have a trip planned for summer. Going to stay and play at the resort.

Almost impossible I’m told, haven’t been myself but will make it down there sooner or later.

I've played Red and Black, and I enjoyed Black a lot more. One of the most enjoyable rounds I've ever played. Much easier to walk.

Don't they have a massive practice putting green you could grab some drinks and putt around?

You don’t have the game for the black course.

There is a large green outside the restaurant. The black course pro-shop and restaurant is much smaller but a very cool setting.

Blue and Red are better. Black greens are super fast and that wind vein thing is pretty cool

How does the course compare stylistically? Red is traditional Coore/Crenshaw with a natural feel, open greens, and subtle/rolling terrain. Blue has Doak’s massive undulating greens and quirky design elements.

It sounds like Black is a beast that combines both worlds.

Actually played there last week. Black isn’t impossible. There are a lot more water hazards on red and blue, which make it prettier. The black greens are ice. Put it an inch, it’ll go a mile. A lot of the difficulty of the course can be mitigated if you have a good caddie who has walked the greens and knows the rolls. Black is easy to reach in reg bc they are MASSIVE, but if you don’t throw darts at the flag, you’re going to easily three putt.
I played better on black, but think that was because I wasn’t fatigued. We went when it was walking season and we walked all three in 3 days.
Beautiful courses all around.

Also, all of the restaurants are very good. But to save you some bucks, buy Gatorade and fruit on the way into the resort because everything there is ridiculously expensive. If you’re going w a big group, stop at a Sam’s and get some bars, Gatorade, and fruit for snacks and you’ll save quite a bit.

You get a $25 credit per day, but you can blow that on the breakfast buffet.
