Where did I say that driving accuracy or distance was the reason I would have left Collin off?
Because you like losing at fourball?

It’s like no one ever looks at stats. He got paired with English, who is a terrible fit. If you look at English’s numbers he shouldn’t have sniffed fourball, much less played it twice. Fourball is what you have guys play who have high FIR and GIR, to put pressure on the other team.

Match play, especially fourball you simply cannot approach the same way. Scottie is the best player in the world, bar none but he is TERRIBLE at fourball if you look at his record.

Who was his partner? Henley, who averages 20 yards less off the tee, how Scottie plans the course is completely thrown off by this. Better partner? Almost anyone, Burns, Young or Griffin are ALL better on paper. He got paired with Burns in 23, but completely different style course, the rough was punitive so any missed fairway was magnified.

In fourball you need guys who hit fairways and greens. Yes they need to make putts but you need opportunities.

Nobody, and I mean nobody on the US team is putting well. Which really begs the question as to why EU is making putt after putt and the US isn’t.

Bryson is playing well, but Scottie hasn't done jack.

It would be tough to sit him, but he just doesn't seem into it.

Pros play a different game than everyone else in more ways than one.

We are either aiming at the pin or just trying to hit the green. Pros are aiming at spots on the green, or sometimes even just off it. The spot he wants to hit might be perfect for a 9 iron, but isn’t for an 8, or maybe even a 7, so shot shape, landing area, whole plan goes out the window.

The pro who I played with a fair bit growing up HATED anything that disrupted his plan. I can’t say I can see he’s gotten any more flexible in the years since. His Ryder Cup record btw is 5-7-7, including 3-3-1 in foursomes.

A lot?

I looked on Data golf

Player rank - Shots gained by experience - US
Young
Scheffler
Cantlay
DeChambeau
Thomas
Morikawa
Xander
Spaun
Henley
English
Griffin
Burns

Frankly anyone being below Henley surprised me.

Rose is 6 under after 8 on his own ball. 7 one putts.

Scottie and DeChambeau are playing great, and losing. Sometimes you just gotta admire what the other team is doing.

Scheffler almost dunking one, clanking the stick and bouncing it off the green.

Sometimes you just have to laugh.
