Can anyone recommend a good outdoor net and mat? Just purchased a Rapsodo launch monitor to use at the range. However, as luck would have it, they just rolled out an update that allows the same functionality into a net minus the shot tracer. I looked through prior threads and tried to find some guidance, but the answers were vague. Based on comments in this thread I’m leaning towards the Spornia SPG-7 and the 4x5 Dura-Pro Commercial Golf mat. Any thoughts? I know the for the launch monitor to work, impact needs to be 8 feet from the net. Is that too far away to use the higher lofted clubs?

Spornia

Dura-Pro Mat

Can't help you with the net really since I don't have an at home set up yet. I will at some point but haven't done any research or planning.

I am very interested in your reviews of the Rapsodo monitor though. How does it work at the range, do you find it useful, have you tested it to confirm accuracy, would you buy it again, how do you utilize it to improve your game, etc.

It’s just coming in today but I have been researching for a few weeks and all the reviews are great, I’ve read dozens. I was between the Rapsodo and the mevo and once the indoor update dropped the rapsodo was the clear winner. It’s supposed to be within 1-2% of a trackman. I got a hundred off with a discount code so if the reviews are accurate 400 bucks beats a few thousand any day. The only negative I have seen is in some high heat situations your phone can overheat and since it uses your phone that can be a problem.

Interesting, I'll have to read up on it. Where did you get the discount code?

I just googled Rapsodo discount code and found a $100 off one. There are multiple $75 ones but I only found one hundred dollar one.

Just looked thanks. Their reviews are great. I'm not sure how I feel about losing three feet of width though. ha

Haack was sold out so I got the Go Sports 9 ft hitting net from Amazon with the additional center net to hit driver.

It’s basically a cheaper patent clone and has been great after many hundred hits into it, including driver.

Let me know how you like it. I’m considering a rapsodo as well but I’d like to see or hear about it from somebody before I dropped 400-500 on it

Should get a chance to use it at the range later in the week as long as beta goes away. Went with the spornia net which should be here Monday. Still need a mat but I can hit off the crappy one I have if I need too.

Follow up to my original question, to those of you who have nets, do you use your regular balls or do you buy driving range type balls?

So far so good. Monitor is very accurate and incredibly consistent. Easy to set up and easy to use. Additionally the data presentation in the app is top notch. I havent tested net mode yet but I’ll get To that tomorrow most probably.

I’m definitely interested in how it does with a net. That would be a lot of my use for it this winter.
