Swing speed loss. SS now in the mid 70s.

Would I be better off with graphite shafts in the irons?

Any recommendations on irons for distance? Thx

Simple answer yes.

Better to get fitted than off tha rack.

The Ping Alta graphite shafts run true to flex.

Take a look at the Callaway Epic Flash Star driver and woods. I have one and it makes a big difference for me. Super light, designed for older golfers with slower swing speeds. I got a good deal on the Callaway pre-owned site.
