Heading to Lawrence this weekend to move the son into apt for grad school; thinking about taking clubs along and playing on Monday. Anybody have any knowledge of courses there? I know it’s a long shot, but thought I’d ask.

Prairie Dunes, not sure how close to Lawrence, but a former customer of mine said it is spectacular.

Prairie Dunes is one of the most spectacular golf courses you will ever set foot on. I'm thinking from Lawrence it's 2, 21/2 hours, but if you have the time don't pass it up.

Lawrence sucks. Lots of good golf in west kc metro though. Sycamore ridge is a Jim Colbert course and the back 9 is amazing.

Actually going to Prairie Dunes (2nd time) for Labor Day weekend, and I agree; it’s awesome. I’m just looking for something within Lawrence. There’s a muni course I might try, or might try to get onto Lawrence CC course, if it’s open on Monday.

Go play Firekeeper, which is located north of Topeka about 45 minutes from Lawrence. Rated Top 2 or 3 public course in Kansas. Notah Begay designed it and it's really good; I played it a few years back and thoroughly enjoyed it.

It's part of the Potawatomi Indian reservation.
