What was the experience/golf like. The Mrs and I are thinking of doing a getaway in June or July and this is a place I've always wondered about checking out just because of the golf options.

Great

Marriott resort is nice and tons of courses in the area. Women love Fredericksburg and all the little
Hill country towns

Me and 7 buddies are going in a couple weeks for a Ryder cup style weekend and playing all of the courses. Will report back if I remember.

Sounds good, we're just looking for a place to chill for a couple days where she can do the spa/pool stuff and I can play golf all day.

I mentioned in the other thread, the Ramrock course is a must play.

Fun stuff to do in Fredericksburg too.

If you don't mind driving a little one day, a small eatery called Mac & Ernies in Bandara is worth the drive.

It's a shack, but the food is amazing and it was featured on Diners, Drive Inns and Dives...

I think it was at one point. Might be wrong. It’s a solid resort though

great golf. really, really fun place to place. applerock is probably the easiest, but summit rock is hard and it's very, very difficult.

Order of toughness

1. Ram Rock is a beast, it brought the Texas Amateur to its knees years ago. Texas State Seniors played there once and said no thanks for a return visit.

2. Slippery Rock is a challenge and well thought out.

3. Apple Rock is the easier of the 3 for sure, but can still bite you.
