Why don't you play more? Not that interested or not able to?
Two kids under 2, money, time.
It's not realistic for me to often be away from home for 5+ hours on a weekend. Once our kids get older I can see getting back into it with them.
My paw paw was quite the player in Baton Rouge many decades ago. He shot 58 at Howell Park (easy layout and greens) and shot his age there at 73.
I might have inherented some of his talent and he was really good at coaching me, but I just never gave it my all like he did.

Ultimately, my temper has made me quit many times over the years. He never got mad on the course. I always did
Now, I just go to have a cigar and drinks with friends, and I don't sweat it.

I play about once or twice a week. One day I'll shoot mid to high 70s and the next I'll be in the 90s. I have a hard time keeping it consistent and getting all parts of my game to line up. It's the dumbest sport and I want to play more often.

That's the game!
I shot 77 and 79 at Howell as a teenager in the same week, but I was typically more like 82 to 88. Blow up holes, you know how it goes... Had two great rounds at Qual Hollow and Dumas that ended up being 80. Fell apart at the end both times, cussing all the way down the fairway

Sorry, just reminiscing...

*I've mostly grown up since then

The advice you get at a range is worth what you paid.

First time in a year or two…can’t remember. Aiming for 88 on par 72 course. Stoked!

said that I look like "about an 8 handicap".
I’m reminded of a time I was in junior college. Me and a couple friends were at a table talking about going to play golf that weekend. Random guy we didn’t know heard us and asked if we needed a 4th. Asked what his handicap was, he said “about an 8”

He didn’t qualify he meant 8 a hole. Worst I’ve ever seen, we made him pick up after 9 each hole. He never putted and we quit after 9. Probably a good idea he drove himself out we’d have probably left him

Shot 89. I’ll take it.
43/46

First round in two years officially.
Irons were best part of the game.
