Looking for recommendations on where to go in East Tx to play. We are playing two days at Tempest Golf Club, but wanted to know what other suggestions you may have. Thanks!

Tempest is great, solid choice for two rounds. Check out Garden Valley, The Links at Lands End, for some other options closer to Tempest.
Not sure how far you want to go, but Texarkana Golf Ranch and Cherokee Ranch, in Jacksonville, are two other nice options.

Pine Dunes is a must. Top 2 or 3 public Texas course and the experience is unreal.
Cherokee Ranch Golf Club in Jacksonville is pretty good too, for the price. But really, go play Pine Dunes.

Pine Dunes is a great course and the pricing is fair.
Always in great shape. Rated one of the best in Texas.

I want to play Ravens Nest in Huntsville my next trip there, but it's a step down from the courses others have referenced.

Crown Colony in Lufkin is nice, but pricey. Sam Rayburn just opened back up, greens are in excellent shape, and a bit cheaper.

Pine Dunes is definitely great if you wanna make that trip to Frankston.
