Driver shaft plug extension

Anyone ever had one or did one? I cracked the head of my old driver and swapped the shaft and noticed my current shaft is a full inch shorter than standard. I have noticed a reduction in distance and the shorter shaft was more recently fitted but curious about extending it.

Get it regripped and ask for an inch plug in there - used to get them at Edwin watts on Sherwood all the time
