Counterbalance Shaft question

Anyone ever butt cut a counterbalance shaft? I really want to play a 43.5 driver.

I’ve got a HZRDUS smoke yellow on my 3 wood, those are counter balanced. I cut it to 42” I believe. Also put the same shaft in a friends driver and cut it to 44”

I had a tensei CK orange that I had cut to 44.5. I really wasn’t a huge fan of the way it felt either way.
