Anyone play either Wetlands or Cane Row lately? Never played either, so if you had to choose one, which one is best? I saw green fees at Cane Row were $40 so I was hesitant to pull the trigger bc any $40 course in BR is trash...

Help me out Laffy peeps!

Cane Row is an absolute steal at that price. I’m a low handicapper in the area and what they are doing there in terms of bringing that course back is phenomenal

Wetlands punched a week and a half ago so I might would call and check on that but it was in great shape right before. Cane row was also in great shape recently but idk their punch schedule.

Just FYI that $40 is before your cart fee. Which I think is around $20

That being said we played it last week and the course is in great shape. My only complaint is that the greens are on the slower side but they still roll true.

I’m so glad Cane Row is doing good. That course was fricked for a long time. In the 90’s it was a prime course for this area before LT opened. Then it went to shut and almost shut down. Whoever owns and runs that course, big props to them.

It was actually shut down for multiple years. Purchased by some cane farmers who know a little bit about ag and maintenance. What they have done with it in just a couple years is pretty amazing honestly.

Hugh took it over and hired a super. He basically told the super to do whatever he needed to get it back in shape. They have done a fantastic job and as soon as the bunkers settle out it will be awesome.

Tdtom is right, Hugh has done a great job. Its looking like it did in the 90s. I would play Cane Row over the Wetlands as its in great shape.

the only grip I had about the last time I played there was that the tee boxes were like cement. I needed a hammer to get my tees in the ground. But if that’s the worst happening, that’s not too bad.

What are the membership fee’s there?

Squirrel Run was my favorite public course in the area to play. The only problem for me is it’s in New Iberia. Glad to hear it’s making a comeback. I’m guess that’s mosquitoes are still bad?
