I’m well aware that the series S is digital only and is less powerful than the X, however I’m not a hardcore game just pretty causal who usually just plays for online with friends (most who only have Xbox now) and wasn’t really looking to drop had a grand on a new console. I’ll also add that I do have a PS5 so any games that are multi platform and want to get the full experience out of I’ll just buy on PS5. Is there anything else that I should consider particularly from those who have an S or X?

If you like gaming in 1080p, sure.

If you can/want to game in 1440p, get the X.

You sound a lot like me. I’m very casual. People told me to get the x because it’d be a lot better.

Well I’m still playing the x on my little 12 year old 30 inch Samsung tv but very infrequently. Could’ve EASILY been fine with the S for the amount of time I actually use it/what I use it with.

You'll get angry the first big title you pull up running at 30fps. I wish i would have waited till an X was available, or just skipped xbox all together. Bought right before we finally saw starfield, and i'm not super impressed.

That too if you want the X.

For casual gaming at 1080p its not that bad, would get a Switch over it though. For higher performance casual I'd go with a Series X or PS5 though.
