he Samsung remote works well to control the whole system, don't need the controller.
Just got the xbox in this evening. Been messing around with it a bit, and i'm just now trying to syne the unit to the Samsung Smart Remote, but it's not accepting it. Any tips on how you were able to get your to work?
UPDATE: I figured it out for anyone that might like to know. The Samsung remote was never recognizing it, and then when prompted to search by "model number" it gave a vague serial number to look for. Instead just type in. Xbox, it will then pull up different Xbox devices, just select the xbox one remote and that should then work with the "power test" and you're good to go.
Now I just need to figure out how to get the tv to recognize hdr content on the Amazon app.

Hopefully this doesn't get buried, but I didn't want to start another thread.
I got a 65" UHD 4K TV for Christmas, but still have the original Xbox One. My understanding is this thing is capped out at 720p resolution. I get weird blur/grain when watching Netflix or playing games like Battlefield 1. Just wondering if you guys have any insight if this is just a low resolution signal being upscaled on a much higher resolution screen, and if the XBOX One S would resolve that.

Xbox One definitely can output at 1080p. First thing I'd check is the output settings on your Xbox, and make sure that 1080p is selected, and see if that helps.
Here are some instructions and steps to go through.
I really hope you haven't accidentally been on the 720p setting the whole time you've had the Xbox One. Hope that link helps.
