Does he like sports? If he is a big baseball fan I'd go with the PS3 hands down.

PS3 is a good choice if for nothing else but having the option of blu-ray with the gaming.

However, the xbox 360 would save you some money and the gaming is better. A lot of tier games for 360 that don't come out for PS3. I can think of only 2 for PS3 that aren't on 360.

I suggest a colecovision. He needs to appreciate the gaming systems of his elders.

You're a douche bag.

1. Trying to con this person into buying an inferior console.

2. Trying to con this person into buying an inferior console from you.

GFY.

Which one to get depends on your primary purpose.

If you are looking for a Blu-Ray player and gaming system get the PS3. The PS3 has a better graphics, but the limit is up to the gaming programer. Most games look the same on the PS3 and the Xbox 360. There are games that look a lot clearer on the PS3. The PS3 has less games out at the current time than the Xbox 360 and used games cost a little more. The online play for the PS3 is not as good as the one for the Xbox 360. The PS3 online is free. The PS3 comes with wireless built in. It comes with a browser so you can surf the internet, but it is slow. The controller isn't as responsive as the one for the Xbox.

The Xbox 360 is a gaming console. It does not have Blu-Ray play back. It will play standard DVD. It has much more games to chose from than the PS3. It also has plenty of quality games at a lower price and used games are a little cheaper. The online play is second to none. You do have to pay $50.00 a year but is well worth it. You will have to pay for a WiFi adapter $99.99 for the Xbox if you want to play wireless over the internet. No internet browser. This system can be linked to your PC.

If you are a sports gamer and will like to play online you need to think hard at your choice. All sports games play the same on both systems. The graphics on a few of them are better on the PS3. Online play I find is easier and better on the Xbox. If baseball is your top gaming sport MLB The Show is only on PS3 and is the best ever to come out.

I have all three systems, Wii, PS3 and the Xbox 360. All have different features that make them unique. Please read up on what they have to offer. I play my Xbox 360 the most followed by the PS3 and then the Wii. My young daughter (11yo) plays the Wii the most. My son (15yo) plays the Xbox 360 the most.
