Undertale. Good for an 8yo?

My daughter stumbled across the soundtrack for this game and now wants to play it. The videos I saw seem innocent enough and a $10 steam gift card will get it.
Legit game? TIA

Undertale is a good game for around that age. I wouldn't have a problem with it. You can even beat it without killing anyone if you want to.

Well she has good taste because the soundtrack is absolutely fantastic.
It's a quirky game. It's dressed up like a old school 2D RPG, but that's really just a facade. It's more about the characters and their little vinnettes than it is the RPG mechanics. It's pretty linear and not that long.
There's nothing really inappropriate, there is a little innuendo here and there that would probably go over a kids head. Some of the humor she'd get, some she might not. Some of the boss fights might be tricky for a kid too I guess.
The default ending (there are several) might be a little freaky for her, hell it's freaky and kinda disturbing period. May want to YouTube the final boss fight if ur curious.

I agree with this. In general, I think Undertale is an excellent game for your daughter's age group. She'll likely love the music, sounds, and characters in this game. However, as said above, there is some creepy/freaky stuff here and there. Definitely darker than a pokemon game, for example. But no blood or cuss words. I'd probably let my 8 year old play it, but it's worth checking out some of it on YouTube to make sure you're comfortable with it.

like others have said nothing that would be egregious for her to see.
it does tackle some heavier topics like the idea of compassion, friendships, brutality (depending on how she plays it). it could go over her head at he rage.
its a great game though, you might want to sit down and play with her just for fun and talk about it.

Might find out his daughter is cold-blooded.
