The Wolfpack season is right around the corner as they look to get on the right track on September 2nd as they take on the UTEP Miners in Mackay Stadium in Reno, Nevada. The Wolfpack offense is led by Senior QB Colin Kaepernick from Turlock, California.

Kaepernick, 6'6" 215 lbs, is known as much for his legs as for his arm. He enters the 2010 season ranked #1 amongst active college football players in rushing TD's. He is #2 in Yards Per Carry (behind Wolf Pack teammate Vai Taua), Total Offense per Game, and Touchdowns Scored. He ranks #3 in Yards per Play and #4 in Pass TD's. Last year, Kaepernick, Taua, and Luke Lippincott became the first teammate trio in NCAA history to rush for 1,000 yards in a single season. Kaepernick is also the first College player in history to have back to back 2000 yard passing/1000 yard rushing seasons.

It is no surprise given his past accolades that he was voted the WAC preseason Player of the Year for the second consecutive season. He won the WAC Player of the Year honors in 2008 and came in second last season to Boise State QB Kellen Moore.

Colin also is on the preseason watchlist for the Maxwell award(the nations top player), the Unitas award(the nation's top Senior QB), and the O'Brien award(the nation's top QB).
