The "pack system" truly seems like a rip. It's an awful lot of work to build even a mediocre team.

From what I've gathered, it's a money grab. People are willing to spend money for a chance to get better players. I am not one of those people

Yeah, I dropped $20 on packs today - literally one gold player (A Gonzales) and the rest were bronzes and commons.
Been playing online a lot this afternoon to get my ratings up - seems like everyone in this game is trying to go with curveballs in the dirt on their first and strikeout pitches. Just burned a dude for 4 runs in the 8th because he stopped doing it after Altuve stole 2nd, 3rd, and home after passed balls in the dirt - then I lit him up for a bunch of runs because he got scared of the passed balls and kept everything in the zone.

It does suck, but I've built almost my entire team through just playing the game.
The only gold/diamond+ players I've gotten from a pack is Bryce Harper and Kenley Jansen and I didn't sell either.
I've spent like $60 additional dollars and my team is stacked, especially with the captain/ticket system.
I have FB Matt Kemp in LF, Cespedes in CF, Harper in RF, Kris Bryant at 3B, Corey Seager at SS, Dee Gordon 2B, Freddie Freeman/Hosmer at 1B and Russell Martin and FB Salty as my catcher.
That's not even counting Gray and Thor who are in my rotation.
Don't buy packs, just save stubbs for players you want. It's not going to be handed to you though.

I think i've dropped at least $100 on top of the original Digital Deluxe Edition purchase to get stubs and open packs because I am a pack addict. I have only pulled a diamond Kimbrel. I've been lucky enough to get multiple cards of the same positional players like Carlos Correa. Whatever you do, don't buy the 10k or 20k box bundles. If you want to drop 20K on packs, then you can buy individual packs (positional players and pitcher packs). I don't buy the Josh Donaldson packs because they're littered with shitty pitchers.

It helps admins recognize what posts are bad posts when they get RA'd without having to read through all of it.
Back on topic, people have to realize packs are what you make of them. If you are ripping packs expecting to pull some crazy card you're going to have a bad time. If you're ripping packs in hopes to expand upon your collection and occasionally pull something you can use then you'll enjoy it. I play enough to where I generate about 1000 stubs a day which let's me enjoy ripping a pack or two without paying. For me that's a blast

The market is kind of fricked up this year. I feel like the margins are a lot smaller than last year.
