My g/fs kid has dropped his switch.

It acts as thought it is in frozen mode. Turns on with nintendo emblem but won't boot or even get the nintendo switch emblem. then just has the glow screen.

Ive used This guide among many other googled remedies, most of all say to do a soft reset.

I have also tried a hard reset into maintenance mode. ( hold down both volume buttons + power button. Maintenance mode will not pull up.

I am still getting the nintendo emblem to pop up, so the screen can't be completely dead. If i plug the system in after a soft reset the battery meter pops up fully charged, followed by the glow screen.

I am at a loss. Tried to question the folks at the local gamestops and all they wanted to do was try and get me to trade it in.

It was bought more than 1 year ago so manufactuers warranty won't do any good.

Anyone know how much Nintendo charges for mail in repairs?

Suggestions I haven't tried already?

TIA.

You in in the market? Lol. I'm not buying him a new one, just trying to help his mom out.

Looks like gamestop with their additional $50 trade in credit this week will be her best bet.

Geeksquad says they don't troubleshoot switches.

Have you read any of this?

Nintendo

Also try YouTube

You MAY be able to open it and see if something was knocked loose

Also, try unplugging the AC adapter from the wall and unplugging from the dock. Unplug the HDMI from the dock as well...with everything unplugged and unplugged from the wall, wait 30 seconds.

Plug in the AC adapter to the wall, then into the dock...then plug in the HDMI (make sure the AC adapters plugged in before the HDMI). Let it set for a few seconds and then place the Switch on the dock and see if it has any effect.
