Son needs help with steamvr devices

He got Vive base stations 1.0 for Christmas. Steamvr does not detect the stations. He has also paired his valve index controllers and they don't show up either. Any ideas? Thanks.

Not quite the same, but for Steam to see the oculus, the Meta app has to be running and detect it first, then open steam
