Red Dead 2 is simply put one of the greatest narratives ever told in video game format while at the same time being one of the most impressive feats of video game making ive ever come across. Which I guess is why it took 6 years we know of likely closer to 8.

The graphic are still better than most ps5 games save a handful. And my best advice to you while the narrative is insanely good its the very definition of a slow burn that greatly enhances replays as you can see the signs as early as the opening cutscence for things not revealed 40-100 hours later depending on your style.

Try to focus on the game being more about the journey than the destination until at least the back half of chapter 4. Rockstar has simply outclassed even themselves with the immense amount of shite to find in thie world. From weird alien ufos appearing only at 3 am above a certain shack to ghost ladies in the marshes only triggerable under certain times and conditions with a full blown backstory to it and much much much more.

Last I will say without too much spoilers there is an epilogue and anything you dont finish in the main game can be done then.

The graphics and story were immediately compelling, though you’re right the build is pretty slow. It really was solidified for me when you had to chase down a train on horseback then rob it and escape. Exhilarating! And then again once the story gets to Saint Denis.

Overall, it’s easily a top 10 game all time for me. I really enjoyed doing all the side quests, hunting, fishing, etc. in addition to the main plot.
