ps3 wont recognize game

been playing black ops without any problems. bought my son the skylanders game for christmas. well, when we put the game in the playstation it doesnt recognize it. restarted ps3, still nothing. put black ops in, works fine.
any help?

my only guess would be a bad disk. even though it is new, make sure that there are no scratches or smudges. greasy fingerprints can make it hard for the laser to read disk. but I'm sure you already checked that

Check if it's a real game. My brother bought a new game off eBay, ps3 wouldn't read it and he realized it wasn't a game disc but a burn disc with the cover imposed on it
