No not exactly. Target is always performance, or used to be at less.
It's just an investment. Usually 1.5yrs. It was also kind of required for my target.
Things are a little different now. Just a few years back, and I'm talking like 2015-2016 it was hard to do some AAA titles at 1440/60. You needed the top end. Esp if you wanted all the eye candy.
Now we have upper mid range cards that can provide 2160/60 and 1440/120 with most eye candy.
A lot more variety back in the industry. Mid range cards matter again.
Edt: To play AAA titles maxed just a few years back it required $2K+ in GPUs. Now you can usually max AAAs with $1K in GPUs and not the flagships.
Does that make more sense?

That's true. Plus you can buy high end 8c/16t CPU's for 300 bucks now. 
$600 between CPU and GPU now and you can easily run 1440p/100Hz+.

Yeah.
Maybe that is where my hatred for AMD comes from, their failure in pushing Intel and AMD.
They made me purchase 2.5K(gpus+blocks) every 1.5yrs.
But the industry is back to a good place and getting better.
This is the perfect example of why competition in a market is healthy and benefits the consumer.

We had a party here about 2-3 weeks ago with roughly 100ppl. Some ppl brought their children, np.
But they all wanted to sneak into my computer/gaming room to play with Legos and Amiibos.
Loved telling them "No that isnt a toy!"
The confused looks on their faces.

They are really nice chairs, best ones of the type. Very good for back compared to the cheaper more arcade style racer ones.

We have held just large parties. Engagement and other announcement parties.
One of my sisters had like 200ppl here for their Engagement party. I hated every second, believe me.

Still never upgraded CPU. Still 6850K w/ 2080 Ti under water.
I really need to upgrade my CPU. I have so many issues with X99 Chipset and windows microcode updates.
Edt: Really really need new monitors. Just never feel like looking for one. Everything comes with matte and I like glossy. Only good glossy are too out what I want to pay. Will most likely do Koreans, like always.
