quote:I think they definitely heard the feedback about Skyward Sword feeling linear and not really being open world. The amount of freedom you appear to have is insane. If the rumors are true, the overworld rivals the size of Skyrim and DA:I, which I love. Controls look smooth. My only worry is that they don't deviate too terribly much from the core of Zelda. I'm down for an more RPG'y Zelda experience, though. I'm a big Zelda plot buff so that will make or break the game for me. If it has another snoozefest story like SS I'll hate it no matter how good the open world/RPG elements are. Zelda has always been plot-driven to me. If it's weak there, it will fall short of multiple Zelda titles.
What did you think ?
ETA: To me, it looks like they're paying tribute to the very first Zelda. It just plops you in and tells you to go. No tutorial, no handholding, no real plot right off the bat. You just exit the cave and meet a weird old man. Very reminiscent of the first Zelda game. If that's the overall theme, I'm insanely excited for another hardcore Zelda experience.

Stop melting.
I've seen only one person shitpost that the game looks shitty. From an art standpoint, I'm not a fan of it, but it doesn't look bad.
But clearly there's texture & shadow issues while a lot of pop-in. Like I posted earlier, I'm not gonna hold that against the game when it still has nine months of development remaining.

quote:Not just here. People are going apeshit everywhere. It's ridiculous. I personally prefer the darker feel of Zelda. Twilight Princess hit the nail on the head for me. But it's clear they want Zelda to have a warmer feel. People also have to remember that this is the unfinished Wii-U version. This will also be released on the NX. I'd bet a lot of money that this isn't the final product graphically.

Ah, gotcha. I fullscreen streams on Twich because frick chat. As for the rest of the internet, I'll quote myself from earlier:

I just got off work so I'm only just now getting to watch the demo, I freaking love what I'm seeing so far. Start with nothing and it basically starts like a Souls game. Sets you in a huge world and says "Go.". It's obviously set a REALLY long time after the events of OoT. I'm insanely curious as to the plot and setting.

oh wow
according to my calculations, by the time it releases in 2017 it will look like Super Mario RPG on SNES

As a side note, the music is amazing.

I REALLY fricking hate the fact that they kept the sprinting/stamina system from SS. I hated that.

Did you see them zoom out the world map? They didn't even show all of it and it showed at least 6 areas at least twice the size of the 1 area available in the E3 demo and they said that one area is so big that no one will be able to explore it fully at E3. The world is absolutely monstrous.

Towards the end, I saw they had Link coast down to the valley. I thought all that was just background art (mountains far off in the distance...unreachable land).
Nope. That's all explore-able. The map is unbelievable big. As long as there's things to do in it and not like MGSV, I'll be excited.

In the demo they crossed into an icy/snowy part of the map and they actually had to change Link's clothes because you would be negatively effected by being in that part of the world with light clothing. Then the game gets really dark for a second. Wasn't a change in weather. Just a cloud passing in front of the sun. This game is fricking awesome!

If you have the Wolf Link Amiibo, you can activate that in the game and have Wolf Link fight beside you as a pet. From what I saw in the game, he's extremely useful. Does pretty good damage and hunts wild animals for you.

Why don't you chill out. Just because I disagree with how you feel on the art style doesn't make me ignorant. I'm not going to attack anyone for liking anything, everyone has their own taste.
I've played every single zelda game since OoT, including handheld games. It's not like I'm just talking out of my arse and have no experience with the series.
If you like it, then great. That's all that ultimately matters with games and their players, is that YOU like it. But don't hate me for disagreeing on one demo a year before the game comes out.

Yeah, that part sucks.
The wolf you can use is great. If he gets "killed", you lose him for 24 real hours. The idea is great. And it's tied to a damned amiibo.
