A Superstar collection of classic Nintendo 64™ boards
Calling all superstars! The Mario Party™ series is back with 5 classic boards from the Nintendo 64 Mario Party games. Race to get the most stars (and sabotage your opponents) on boards like the stellar Space Land or the spooky Horror Land! Party at your own pace by suspending a game and picking up right where you left off! The tides can turn quickly in Mario Party, so stay vigilant, partygoers. All modes can be played online, too!
Play 100 classic minigames from the Nintendo 64 and Nintendo GameCube™ games and more in Mt. Minigames!
Try your hand at a superstar collection of minigames from throughout the Mario Party series. Whether you are saving up coins for stars in board game mode or enjoy one of the 7 modes included in Mt. Minigames, there is nothing quite like being the last one standing in Bumper Balls or the first team making it out of the darkness in Dungeon Duos. All minigames are played with button controls, so you can stick to the Joy-Con™ controller or bust out the Nintendo Switch™ Pro Controller or a Nintendo Switch Lite system.
Party with superstars near or far
Bring the party anytime, anywhere with same-system, local wireless, or online play. Use stickers to praise or pester fellow players as you race across the board collecting stars. All modes support online multiplayer, so you can hop in with friends for a few minigames or a marathon 30-turn match. Victory is just as sweet (and stealing stars is just as satisfying) from anywhere across the globe.

?Little more to say: the best Mario Party Superstars simply for having what the saga lacked, its online multiplayer!?
Atomix - Alberto Desfassiaux - Spanish - 85 / 100
It doesn't really matter if you never played the past of Mario Party, you will also find a lot of value, especially if you have someone to share it with because in fact, I think this new installment of Switch comes at the perfect time for the holiday season that is about to start.?
CGMagazine - Dayna Eileen - 8 / 10
Mario Party Superstars somehow manages to entertain and impress while bringing almost nothing new to the table aside from some annoying stickers and appreciated save features. Nintendo knows the road to success is nostalgia, and they manage to use it to hit the mark every time.
COGconnected - James Paley - 70 / 100
The game looks modern, but feels more like a classic entry in the franchise. If the thing you were missing was frustration and elation in equal measure, then yours will be a rich bounty indeed. For better and for worse, this is a heaping helping of the cruel whimsy you remember so well. Mario Party Superstars is a glamorous trip down cherished paths you’ve mostly blocked from your memory.
Cerealkillerz - Julian Bieder - German - 8.4 / 10
Looking back at it roots, Mario Party Superstars brings back some of the biggest joys from the Nineties. A wide selection of the best minigames and classic boards originally debuting on the Nintendo 64 surely will satisfy everbody's nostalgia. On the downside it feels like there's content lacking, since there are only five playable boards, no overarching story and nothing worthwile to unlock. As soon as the nostalgia wears off, this Mario Party almost feels... incomplete.
Console Creatures - Bobby Pashalidis - Recommended
Mario Party Superstars is a love letter to the series' early beginning on the Nintendo 64. With improved game boards, a collection of 100 minigames, and a group of friends, this collection honours the Mario Party legacy.
Daily Star - Tom Hutchison - 5 / 5 stars
Older players who may remember the original titles will get that nostalgic feel. And even non-gamers will find this easy to enjoy. Great family fun.
Digital Trends - Giovanni Colantonio - 4 / 5 stars
Mario Party Superstars is the best game in the series, bringing a better selection of minigames and fewer gameplay gimmicks.
Digitally Downloaded - Matt Sainsbury - 4 / 5 stars
There's no doubt that Mario Party Superstars was a hasty project, pulled together to capitalise on the party season and keep the run-rate ticking over for Nintendo with a new release. It's hard not to look at a selection of boards that accounts for just a quarter of what was present in the first three Mario Party titles and not think that this is less a "superstars" package but rather a rather cynical sampler. Still, what is there is excellent quality, and if you've got Christmas parties and family events on the horizon then you will likely get a lot of value out of this game. Just don't spill beer on your controller. They don't make 'em as tough as they were back on the N64.

Mario Party Superstars launches in a great way a concept that evokes strong feelings of nostalgia and which needed to be on the Nintendo Switch.
Game Informer - Brian Shea - 8 / 10
Whether you grew up with these games or this is your first time partying, Mario Party Superstars is a fun way to celebrate the series
GamePro - Tobias Veltin - German - 84 / 100
The perceived series best-of is the best Mario Party of recent years, but could have done with a larger scope.

Mario Party Superstars won't change anyone's mind, but for those of us who enjoy it, there ain't no party like a Mario Party-party.
Hobby Consolas - Bruno Sol - Spanish - 88 / 100
A hilarious revival of N64 and GC board games and mini-games that proves Nintendo listened to the feedback received after the previous Switch release. Whether you play with friends and family, or via Online, you'll have a blast. Alone, against the AI, you'll have fun with the mini-games, but the board mechanics will bore you.
IGN - Mitchell Saltzman - 8 / 10
Mario Party Superstars is an amalgamation of some of the best boards, minigames, mechanics, and quality of life improvements from the whole series, resulting in the best Mario Party has been in a very long time.
Metro GameCentral - GameCentral - 8 / 10
Remakes of old N64 Mario Party boards may not sound the most desirable release of the season but in terms of easily accessible party games there are few better options.
Nintendo Life - Alex Olney - 8 / 10
Mario Party Superstars is a love letter to the parties you remember attending 20 years ago. A disappointingly slim selection of boards takes the shine off things somewhat, but it's hard to argue that this is the best Mario Party has been in over a decade. No new ideas absolutely feels like a missed opportunity, but by the same token we'd much prefer to have all these classic ideas intact rather than potentially tainting them with unwanted and unnecessary inclusions only added for the sake of being new. Grab a can of Tango and a fistful of 10p Freddos - you're going to party like it's 1999.
Nintendo News - COLETTE - 8.5 / 10
Mario Party Superstars attempts to find common ground with fans of the series. Between the strategic boards, the mountains of minigames on offer and online gameplay, there is more than enough content to keep any Mario Party fan occupied for 20+ hours. Older generations may say, ‘they don’t make them how they used to’ and, for Mario Party, that’s certainly been the case for several years. So, while it’s not a perfect (re)union, Superstars returns to form with the old, the borrowed and the new.

This game is insanely fun if you are in any way a fan of the originals and the classic Mario Party experience. The online has gotten pretty good reviews as well.

Is it just online minigames like in the past or is there actually boards online?

Probably my next game. Just got my switch yesterday.
Mario Kart and Donkey Kong. Donkey Kong got me feeling so much nostalgia.
Me and my pops could never beat the last frickin boss on the original donkey kong for super nintendo. I can't wait to invite him over to play on this. We're gonna beat it this time.

I need to give this a try. We bought the other Mario Party game for the Switch and it's horrible. I see this version got rid of the character specific dice, item vending machines, and companions. Those additions in the last game ruined the experience for me.

Yep, it corrects all that people hated about Super Mario Party. This is the best entry in the series since The GameCube era, IMO.
