Looking for some older RAM because I'm trying to piece together another spare rig with some parts I have.

I need some DDR2 800. Hoping to find some 2x4GB.

It's pretty expensive to buy so I'm hoping someone might have some of this obsolete shite laying around for cheap!

That is pretty silly considering your socket.

3gb will be good enough or get 4x1GB sticks. 2GB per channel will barely be used with that socket.

1gb per channel won't be the bottleneck you think it will be. The CPUs cache isn't large enough to transfer large amounts of data stored on the ram.

I would do a 4x2gb build because that is hard ram to come by. Idk if I have seen 4gb ddr2 sticks before. Really can't remember, that I like 2006-2007.
