Whats everyones thoughts on this I have been looking forward to it?

Pros:
-Excellent like 4 hour long demo
concept and story, seems more narrative driven than most souls likes
-Interesting dark take on old mostly considered childrends tale
-merging of mechanics from sekiro bloodbourne and even elden rin

Cons: I imagine most of these will be ironed out by launch

- atrocious dodge system needs more iframes or give more distance from your foe
- horribly unbalanced weapons
- weapon durability sucks in any game in any time but its on steroids here to the point you have to find space in boss battles to repair it on the fly since it just something the puppet Pinocchio does

If you haven’t given it a try yet the demo is free and for fans of Bloodbourne in particular but you will identify strong Sekiro elements plus elden you’ll likely enjoy it bigly

So I have spent the day playing the demo on and off while I did other work things and cleaned the house. It isn’t set up like ff16 where you play through a set narrative beat. You’re defined to a zone that includes 3 bosses and shite think like something the size of central yarnam and like 75% of cathedral ward. This game is absolutely fantastic when they get the kinks worked out and anyone pining for bloodborne 2 I promise you this will scratch the itch with a very welcome dash of Sekiro heavy focus on timed parry’s and deflections

I didn't have this issue, but there are instant repair tools.

Overall I enjoyed the demo a lot. I'm anxious to see what the full release looks like because the weapon building system has some fun potential.

I loved it. Can't wait till September for it to come out. I do agree with most of your cons list though.

I am extremely interested in what the story is going on here. There is some sort of plague, also it seems there is a puppet uprising of sorts. I wanna see how the “lie” mechanic a classic trope associated with the main character plays into the game and how much it alters outcomes and story progression

I eventually got into this mold but for me this is an entirely new way of playing souls likes (blocking). I know you do it in dark souls and Elden ring but BB and Sekiro are my favorite where you use fast frantic movement for combat along with well timed parries or chain deflects in the case of Sekiro. Which I’m glad is in the game too

Also on the topic of weapons I’ve YouTube vids and other message boards with people absolutely trashing the strength weapons and I agree they suck and offer no advantage at all outside a slightly better block. The dex rapier sword class is so much better than the others and that needs fixing
