Just finished Visions of Mana for the first time and I'm curious (spoilers)

Did anyone else think the ending to this game was terrible? Was too short, and we didn't even find out what happened to any of the characters other than Val and Hinna. What an absolute letdown.

Honestly can't remember the last time I've been this unimpressed with a game's ending.

I enjoyed the game overall, but after the ending I'm not sure I care about trying to fight optional bosses or anything like that.
