Picked up Town to City on sale the other day. Next thing I know it's 1:00 am. Solid little indie city builder. Low-stress/cozy-ish.

If you follow the indie scene this one isn't a big surprise, it came out a few years ago to pretty big acclaim.

Tunic

It really is as good as advertised and extremely clever in how the game presents itself and unfolds.

Surface level it's an intentional homage to the original Legend of Zelda on NES, so that style of gameplay is present. There's also some modest Soulslike mechnaics, there are bonfire style checkpoints, etc. The boss fights are also no pushover.

The real hook for the game though is that fact it's very cryptic about the mechanics and puzzles, as you progress through the game you find pages of the game's "manual" and those pages sorta have tips and clues which help you sorta progress through the game. They do a really great job of having 'A-ha!" moments where something is revealed you were wondering about. There's a lot of stuff hiding in plain sight you only "get" once you know what to look for.

Definitely the type of game you should know nothing about on your first playthrough to play it properly. Extremely well done for what they were going for.
