Help with PlayStation network

So the last time I had a PlayStation was the ps3 and I didn’t get into the ps network because I didn’t have to. My son just got a PS5 and Godfall. You have to be logged in to the ps network to play it. So I created an account for him to play. But the game looks fun and I’d like to play but I can’t play under my profile because I don’t have a ps network account under that one. Can I somehow share a ps network login among console profiles or do I need another? I’m sure I’m missing something simple but I haven’t really played video games in such a long time I’m out of the loop. TIA

their website says you can play without playstation plus, but maybe you have to be on playstation network free account.
will it not let you launch the game at all?

I can launch the game but it won't let me do anything without being logged in. I also try using the app to sign in more quickly, but it seems to sign my son in, and I can't find a way to create another account in the app.

I think you have to make the account with PS Plus the primary and then add other account as secondary. But that may only be if you have two PlayStations. I’m not home or I would try it
Look it up online, the question has been asked

I ended up just creating a new account which I apparently had to do on a computer. Not sure if that’s what o had to do but seems to suffice.
