Yeah that's pretty much my position. I am content at this point waiting out the shortage/high price market since I picked up a series S xbox while things normalize...or if the Mtech site is the real deal.

I had hoped that LHR cards would find themselves on shelves quickly since a large portion of the demand wouldn't want them but it has not happened yet

Are the cards cracked due to workarounds to allow mining or actual hardware issues?

Ok, so according to Reddit (and confirmed on a tracker site), the EVGA GeForce RTX 3080 FTW3 ULTRA GAMING LHR queue hit 10/6 yesterday. I’m 10/7. There’s a non zero chance I go from zero 3080s to multiple in the next couple of weeks. This is like the lead up to Christmas

If the Embarrassment of Riches fairy visits and I end up with a 3080fe and a 3080 FTW3 Ultra, I'll likely keep the FE. Not only does it better fit the aesthetic of my build, but the air flow pattern will fit better. And being it's been a while since I've talked about it, I suppose that warrants more detail

I designed my build around vertically mounting a 3080fe from the day they were announced. I have an o11xl with nine fans: top and bottom intake, side exhaust. The idea (other than just looking awesome) being that all air flows to the middle of the case where the card is, with the card itself venting half of its air directly outside of the case and half of the card blowing back towards the side exhaust fans.

On the other hand, a standard cooler in a vertical orientation will blow up/down, directly conflicting with my intake air pattern, and oriented horizontal will blow directly forward into the glass.

Now, with all of that said, this is my being an utterly unreasonable crazy person when it comes to efficiency, because with nine fans, none of this shite is really going to matter a whole lot, but still

I'm bored. Who do I need to bother to get on the mtech discord?

Obviously self reported, so grain of salt, but someone last night posted on Discord that their 7/26 3080fe order shipped 8/20.

Guy posted that on the bought/received channel last night. I’ll defer to you if you recognize the name and would take him at his word.
